Are you a trust earner or giver?

My sis and i have been talking about trust a lot lately. I believe that trust is an extremely important part of a foundation to any type of relationship (bf/gf, friend, sibling, mother/daughter...etc). If a relationship lacks trust, there is no way it can last. I think that there are two ways to look at trust. Are you a trust earner or a trust giver? By this i mean:

Do you automatically trust someone till they give you a reason not to (giver) OR

Does someone have to earn you trust over a period of time (earner).

I think i am a skeptical trust giver and by this i mean that for the most part i give someone trust until they do something that takes that trust away. However i give it with some skeptiaclisim (is that a word?). I always have the thought in the back of my mind well they could do this or well i heard they are like that..... I like to think i am a realistic person... Luke says i am a pessimistic.. I just know how life is and people are and it is easier for me to have that doubt.

My theory is that i am a giver because i have not REALLY been hurt or betrayed. I mean i have had the friends who done the whole stab in the back type deal, but besides one small incident in my life, trust has not been hard to give. On the other hand, i feel as if people who have had their trust betrayed tend to be more of a earner. I think this is because they are scared about getting hurt again, and they can slim their chances of being hurt if someone has to earn the trust and it is not just given to them.

I think both types have their pros and cons.

Okay kinda random, but what are you a trust giver or trust earner?

Things I Need To Learn To Love

There are so many things in the world that if i just loved them, life would a happier better place (for me).

1. Coffee. I heard this is every person's BFF. But coffee and I are not buds. I love waking up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning (thanks to the roomie) but i just cannot drink it. I tried adding massive amounts of sugar and milk... but then that shoots up the calories. Ugh coffee i will learn to love you some day... because morning and i are worst buds. So maybe someday we can help each other out and i can enjoy you and you can get me awake and keep me awake all day :)

2. Gym. Dear gym, why are you so difficult to love. The gym and I have a love hate relationship. I love to hate it. If i could just enjoy the gym and want to go to the gym, then i could say goodbye weight and hello bikini :) However it is a daily struggle to get to the gym, but the one good thing is once i am at the gym, i kind of just a little may enjoy it.

3. Vegtables/ Healthy food. This is somewhat grouped with the gym. However healthy foods are just not as delicious as bad food. If i could just learn to like healthy foods, once again i could maybe be skinny again and in shape? Why cant healthy foods taste like chocolate, cheese, burgers, and wings. Everything that taste good is horrible for you. Ugh

4. Pressure/stress. Don't we all wish that stress and pressure did not bother us. If i learned to love stress, id be one happy girl 24/7. Well i better get use to it because as i get older im sure the stress and pressure is only going to get worse. My future job as a teacher will be extremely stressful (def at the beginning) and the amount of pressure of teachers is redic. Wonder if there is a way to turn stress into a positive thing.. hmm let me know.

5. Snow. If i have said it once i have said it a million times. I. Hate. The. Snow. I could honestly say that i do not think i would care if i never saw another snowflake in my life. The reasons why i hate snow: driving in it, wet pants which leads to wet socks and cold feet. salt ruining my pants and shoes, puddles of water everywhere, oh and the fact that its FREEZING! I need to learn to love the snow because more than likely i will be living in central PA for most of my life.. therefore that means 5 months of winter.. every year. Bring on the global warming... i wont mind :)

Okay so if i can just learn to love these 5 things.... :)

Just a thought...

Soo recently i have been thinking... what about a destination wedding. I have seen pictures of people who got married on the beach and it is so BEAUTIFUL. Dont ya think?

Pros of a beach wedding:
  • BEAUTIFUL
  • Our colors would match perfectly
  • Luke and I got engaged on the beach
  • Only close family could attend
Cons of a beach wedding:
  • Only a few members of our family could probably afford to attend, therefore leaving out a "few" people who i couldnt imagine not being at my wedding.
  • Missing out on the traditional "church wedding"
  • What if the weather is bad?
Pros of a church wedding:
  • Get that traditional church wedding
  • All family members and friends can attend
  • Weather is not a factor
Cons of a church wedding:
  • I dont think there are any cons except if i had family i didn't want to attend (haha)
Money is not a factor i think depending on the planning either one would be more expensive than the other. However, if we did do the beach wedding.. there would still be some sort of party after for everyone to attend.

I was thinking of white sand and crystal blue water somewhere in the Caribbean maybe, but we could always do a beach closer to home that more family could drive to.. this way we could still have a beach wedding, but more family would attend... this is a thought!

Here is a pic i found on the OCNJ website. Its not AS pretty as the previous picture... but i blame some of that due to the fact that neither the bridal party or flowers have any pop of color!

hmm decisions decisions... We ALL know i am horrible with making up my mind. Thank goodness i have a few more months to think about it all :)

Lyss :)
