stressful week!

Nothing exciting has been happening. boo but i have been having a stressful start to my last semester. Like previously mentioned my classes are kicking my butt and my profs are nothing to brag about. And i thought that i was going to have a nice stress free last semester.. wrong!

Also something is MAJORLY wrong with my new computer. I have spent countless hours on the phone with dell, mcafee, and Microsoft. I have till TOMORROW to decide if i am keeping it on sending it back. I do not know what to do. No one can help me fix it so tonight luke and i are going to try and reset it and reinstall everything, so we will see how it goes.

This weekend looks much more promising then this week. Luke and I plan on watching movies, cuddling, and im going to try (key word try) to cook him dinner. Then sat night is Jams b day celebration in Pittsburgh. (pictures and descriptions to come in the near future).

Okayy so maybe i should work on some homework while i relax and wait for luke to get here :) Hmmm 7 hours to go :]

How Luke and I met :)

Last semester for one of my classes (Teaching EL Ed Lang Arts) we had to write a personal narrative. I did my story on how Luke and I met. At the end of the semester we had to sit in the "authors chair" and share a piece of writing from that semester.. i picked this one:

The Unexpected
“You are in seat number seven”, said the new bus driver as a bus full of unfamiliar faces stared back at me. “I did not want to be in seat number seven” I thought. I wanted to be in my old seat, on my old bus, with my old bus driver. Hesitantly, I walked back to my seat and there sat a boy with red hair. He made me sit on the window side, “I don’t like the window side”, I said to myself. The boy obviously did not care. He did not even say “hi” or ask me my name. He had an unfriendly vibe. “Just my luck to get stuck with meanest rudest kid on the bus”, I thought to myself. He looked older than me, so I figured he was probably in 6th grade. That would explain why he was standoffish, 6th grade boys at my school had no feelings or even hearts at that matter. A blond hair boy climbed on the bus and started heading towards my seat. “He cannot sit here too”, I thought to myself. The boy indeed scooted in to our seat squishing me against the window. The bus ride to Juniata Gap Elementary lasted a life time. The two boys in my seat decided to see how hard they could throw themselves towards the window. Did they forget about a tiny 4th grader getting shoved as hard as possible by two large 6th grade boys?
My sister and I came up with a plan so I could be the last one in the seat. Janelle would keep an eye out for the school bus as I crouched behind a small bush near the bus stop. Right when the bus pulled up to our stop she would give me the signal and I would run up to the bus getting on just in time. This would allow me to sit in the aisle seat, which would prevent me from getting slammed by these two inconsiderate boys. Unfortunately, the mean red -headed boy yelled “Move in”. I tried this plan several times. Sometimes it worked and other times I would get the stare down with a sharp loud “Move in”. My mom started to get worried because I would constantly come home crying! “Let me call this kid’s parents” My mother said. “No, mom he will only bully me worse” I replied. Eventually, my mom started having my babysitter drop my sister and me off at school, so I no longer had to sit with that mean boy on the bus.
Six years later my friends and I were on our way to our first high school get together. We were going to a friend’s house to watch a Penn State football game. We walked in the house and sitting there on the couch was the red-headed bully. I thought I was going die. “Seriously, no way this is a joke” I thought to myself. Of course I felt the need to inform my friends how that boy bullied me in elementary school. My friends and I decided we were going to ignored him, because of my dreadful childhood past. Unfortunately, Luke, the red-headed bully, was a good friend of our friends. After hanging out with the same friends for a while, it was time we talked. So we would say “hi”, but not much more.
Then one day my friends left me with no ride but my childhood bully. “Seriously what are my friends doing to me?”, I asked myself. I was furious with my friends’ lack of concern for my well-being, but rode with him anyways because I had no choice. In our short car ride I decided I would confront him about being the bus bully. I was no longer scared of him and I was no longer the same shy timid girl from six years ago. “Do you know you bullied me on the bus in elementary school?” I said. “No, I do not even remember you riding my bus” He said. “Well I definitely remember, I shouted”. After much denial about the entire situation Luke said “I am sorry, but I still do not remember”. I accepted his apology, but reminded him of the elementary school incident several times. I told him he would pay for it someday.
After spending time with Luke I realized he was not the same mean kid from elementary school. He ended up being nice, understanding, fun, and even kind of cute. After some hesitation, we eventually started dating. Five years later we are still dating and every summer we take a trip to Ocean City together. During our latest vacation to the beach this past summer, Luke got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes, of course! It is important to realize that people can change and you never know where you are going to meet your best friend and soul mate.

Everyone in my class enjoyed it and insisted on putting their car keys away and taking public transportation for a while in hopes of finding their future husband :)

Wait why was I excited again?

Well its finally here my last semester at Slip as a student. (yay!) Kind of bitter sweet. Sis and I are planning on student teaching in NC over the summer. (fingers crossed they only accept 20 people) I hope i dont fall in love and want to stay down there because Luke would never follow me down there :( Boo but hey we are pros on the long distance thing.. right ;)

Although i am excited to move on with the next chapter in my life, this semester sucks already! None of my classes are interesting (okay maybe 1 is) I have two math classes (math as a lib art and stat 2) BLAHH! The teachers stinks and im not looking forward to them at all. My other 2 classes are History and Phil of Ed and Ed Strats for students with MD. So hopefully this semester is not to difficult and stressful because i want to enjoy my time here with friends!

Okay positive thoughts about this semester :)

Night class tonight, my dance team is performing at our 1st b-ball game tonight.
Good luck girls!

Hair update :)

Okay so remember wayy back when i first started this thing i said i was going to let my hair grow. Well guess what.. i cut it. JK i am actually letting it grow and i found a picture of myself with the older sis right after my LAST short cut :( And it REALLY made me miss my short blond hair... :( But here is my progress. I cant believe this is all my hair has grown in 6 months! I mean i have gotten 2 trims to keep up with the dead ends. but that's it.

short blond hair.

Longer brown hair.

My hair is just a little bit shorter than this last picture because i recently got it colored darker and another trim. So i am making progress but I'm sick of letting it grow already. Ok think positive long beautiful hair in the future:)

Weekend Recap

Welp this was it my official last free weekend of my LIFE. Of my life you ask? YES MY ENTIRE LIFE! Weekends from here on out will consist of school work, competitions, lesson planning, and maybe just maybe a relaxing one in there somewhere. (fingers crossed). Therefore I refused to do anything but relax and spend time Luke.

Thursday: Some friends and I ventured to the outlets. We had fun walking around stopping in at stores. I bought a black cardigan and necklace from Charolette Russe. Then the girls and I went to a local Mexican restaurant to have margaritas! It was fun and relaxing having a drink and talking :) After the restaurant we came home and hung out at the apartment.

Friday: I did pick up a shift at work. Work is easy and at times relaxing. I sit at a dorm hall desk and make sure people belong in that building and answer questions for concerning parents. At work i tend to update my blog (like now), surf the web, or complete my homework. I then went home after work and waited for Luke to get here! It was going to be great to spend the weekend with him. Once he arrived we relaxed and watched TV together.

Saturday: I worked another 2 hr shift. It did stink leaving lukey knowing he was going to be at my apartment. But i needed the hours. Then we also went to the outlets. But this time i allowed him to go into all the stores he wanted to. (very different from the ones i always shop at) We then took a nice little nap together and then ventured to the one and only bar at Slip...Ginger Hill. Luke does not like it.. I know it compares nothing to all of the bars at PSU. but its the bar I have been going to for the past 2 years and i don't mind it. (except when it is so crowded that you cant move)

Sunday: Babes and I slept in :) He ordered some wings while i got ready. We had some wings and watched the football game! Then once again i had to go to work.. i was sad because i did not want him to leave. It is nice having him around! But i know in less than a year i will be with him all the time and probably be sick of him (jking). Now hes on his way back home and hopefully I will see him again either next weekend or the following weekend!

Tomorrow we do not have school. So my weekend will continue :) I am excited for the new semester to start.. but not ready for the loads of work! (why did i take 2 math classes again?)

hope everyone had a great weekend :)

New Purse

Okay so I do admit that I have a purse fetish. (I blame the older sis) For real, I love all kinds of purses and bags. (big, small, plain, flashy..etc) So believe it or not I have not bought a NEW purse since.....MAY! Yes that is 8 months... crazy I know! But the reasoning is I told myself that I was not going to buy a purse unless i was INLOVE and could not live without it.

The day came, Luke and I were at Kohls shopping around! Of course I tried on a ton of clothes and managed to find something wrong with everyone of them. So I made luke go to the purse section of the store. I was looking for something a little bit bigger and stylish. I like to carry my books for class in a cute bag instead of a backpack. I walked over to the Sienna Ricchi section. I have never heard of this brand but it caught my eye. After picking up THE purse and looking at the price tag, it felt like someone punched me in the tummy. But why is it so expensive.. i don't get it.. whats the big deal... I never even heard of this brand. But then I saw it... the SALE sign. yay! but only 30% off. UGH that would still make it ($50) and I DO NOT have $50 for a purse... so i sat it down and searched desperately for a purse that compared. But i had no such luck. Luke met back up with me and said "okay lets Go I have a game to watch". buttt luke I don't know what to do I love this purse but it so expensive" "then don't get it" he said. Well it wasn't that easy. So I thought and thought and said this is one of those times where I am going to be mad at myself and kicking myself for not getting this purse. So I decided to purchase it and luckily I had a $30 gift card only costing me $20 in the end. So in the end I believe that I found a great deal and a purse I cant live without! (I even got a compliment on it in the store yesterday)

Wedding thoughts and ideas!

For awhile I think I kind of forgot that I was engaged. (i mean not that the beautiful rock on my finger was missing) but I have been busy with other things and have not thought too much about wedding plans. I think that a part of me pushes it to the back of my mind because when people ask when we are getting married and I say (July 14, 2012) and the normal response is "Wow that's really far away from now". So that makes me think why start planning or thinking about anything now i mean that is like 50 years from now, right? But the other day i talked to a wedding planner (she works with Luke) and she informed me that it really isn't that far away and that it would not be a bad decision to start gathering some ideas. Yeah.. lady you are right but you obviously do not know me very well (meet me: the most indecisive person in the world) It is not that I am hard to work with or please or want some wedding out of a magazine, I just suck at making decisions in general.

What I do know:

Date: July 14, 2012

Colors: Bright blue with lime green accents (maybe another color in there somewhere?)

We are getting married in a church.

There will be an open bar at the reception. (haha for the bridal party at least)

My short short list is screaming to be added to.

My one problem, i CANT find colors anywhere online that match the ones in my head.

Colors:

This is somewhat close to the image in my head. The aqua/bright blue is close, but the green i was thinking to be a little more bright or (lime).

So here this is what is in my head i LOVE the bright blue and green ribbons on these chairs. These are the colors that we want to use. :)

Flowers: (i know nothing about flowers or flower names, these are just ones i think are pretty)

These are Gerber Daisy's and they are beautiful! I would obviously want the pink replaced with turquoise and then also have the lime green in there also.

These are so pretty. I'm not sure what they are, but there looks like there are some lilacs in there and those were my grams fav flowers so it would be nice to incorporate them into the flowers somehow. (obviously green and blue in stead of pink and orange)

Bridesmaid dresses: (i know i want to go with a knee length dress. Halter top would be preferred. More than likely they will be the turquoise blue. Haven't decided if maid of honor is in opposite color? (yes ? no? thoughts?)

This is a thought not exactly what is in my mind, but close.

Another idea, but in turquoise.

Groomsmen: I was thinking about putting the guys in linen suits (no tuxes) Or maybe a tan suit.

I like how the suit is light and comfy looking.

Welp i feel much better now that i have some picture in my head. Next time maybe I can tackle reception and decoration ideas :)

*New Years Eve*

Better late then never right? New Years Eve is always a pain in the butt, but always ends up being a fun night. This year was no exception. Luke, his brother, my roomie, sista, and a few other friends decided on Pittsburgh (station square). We went here the previous year it was so much fun! Lukes bro is a barback/bouncer at buckhead saloon in station square so we decided to go there. We really enjoy this place because it fits both mine and Luke's personality. It has the bar/saloon feeling and the club/dancing scene. There is a band for about an hour or two then a DJ for an hour or two. You get the band and the DJ all in one :)

Finding a Taxi in Pittsburgh is hard as it is, let alone trying to find one on one of the most popular nights to go out. After several calls to the taxi place we decided we were going to walk to a bus stop and take the bus. Luckily while standing at the bus stop a taxi drove by and we got a ride.

Once we got to the bar the time FLEW by. I somewhat remember dancing, watching the ball drop, and having a few drinks ;). All in all it was a great fun night with friends <3

Clothes that I love, but would probably never wear.

I have been in the shopping mood lately (how is that any different right?). But I have been having a problem the clothes that I look at and LOVE i no longer love once i put them on. I am sure there are several reasons why this occurs, I mean almost every girl loves an outfit on a mannequin more then herself right? So I am going to think positive and pick out some of my fav pieces of clothing from forever21 that I think I would ROCK!

Quotes

Here are some of my fav quotes:

If you don’t get out of the box you’ve been raised in,
you won’t unders
tand how much bigger the world is.
[Angelina Jolie]

If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

Love is giving someone the ability to destroy you, but trusting them not to.

You can choose to blame your circumstances on fate, or bad luck, or bad choices. or you can fight back. things aren't always gunna be fair in the real world, that's just the way it is. but for the most part, you get what you give. let me ask you all a question, what's worse? not getting everything you wished for or getting it, but finding it's not enough? the rest of your life is being shaped right now, with the dreams you chase, the choices you make, & the person you decide to be. the rest of your life is a long time, & the rest of your life starts right now. - one tree hill

So take a look in that mirror and remind yourself to be happy because you deserve to be. Believe that. And believe that dreams come true every day. Because they do.

I guess, if anything, it's about taking chances, even when you think you're all out of chances. It's about giving forgiveness and unconditional love, even when it seems like you should only do the opposite. It's about trusting that god puts people in your life at certain moments so that you can capitalize the opportunity. It's all about the possibility. It's all about what you do with those possibilities. Life is short, but it moves so fast. Hang on and enjoy the ride. And when someone comes along with whom you enjoy spending the ride with, hold on t
ight.

Christmas

Christmas is the best time of the year. A few months back i dreaded this weekend. We thought that Lukas would be in Harrisburg and he would be unable to spend his favorite time of the year with family and friends. Since luke moved home and was able to spend christmas with family, it was great. To me, Christmas is about spending time with friends and family and if you can't be with them, then it is not the same.

Christmas eve- Sis and I went to my dads house and visited him. Then Lukas and his family and My family went to church together. It was great to have everyone go to church. The sermon was great and beautiful. Then Lukas and I headed to his aunt's house for some great food and time with his Fam.

Christmas day- We always wake up and open presents. (we no longer wake up at 7). My mama and stepdad got me a new (green) dell laptop and i LOVE it :) Plus a stocking full of makeup and mini speakers for my i-pod. (i always loved the gifts in our stockings) Lukas bought me a leather purse, a watch and my favorite a green northface jacket :) I got him a video game, pens shirt, and a sweater vest! Janelle and i got my mama a digital picture frame and a calendar. I got my step dad slippers. After exchanging gifts I went up to lukas's house where we had dinner! After dinner lukas and i came down to my house. Some unexpected events occured but we eventually were able to eat our dinner and spend some more time with family.

Overall it was a great weekend and i look forward to spending many more with Lukas and our families :)
